Vaco is hiring a Staff Accountant
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Compensation: $80-$85/annually
Hours: Mon – Fri 9Am-6PM

Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant responsible for supporting the preparation of accurate financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial analysis. This individual will work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and accounting data for management review
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and account research
  • Analyze income statement activity and identify trends or discrepancies
  • Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and documented
  • Support compliance with accounting policies and applicable accounting standards
  • Assist with fixed asset accounting, including depreciation and roll-forward schedules
  • Maintain prepaid expense and amortization schedules
  • Participate in audit preparation and respond to audit requests as needed
  • Collaborate with team members on ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding accounting activities and timelines

Qualifications & Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting environment
  • Experience preparing journal entries and supporting month-end close
  • Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Experience with fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and prepaid expenses preferred
  • Exposure to audit support and financial reporting processes preferred
