Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for supporting treasury operations, cash management, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage and maintain the Treasury inbox, ensuring timely and professional communication and resolution of inquiries
  • Perform daily and periodic reconciliation of store sales, deposits, and cash transactions
  • Reconcile multiple bank accounts and investigate, research, and resolve discrepancies
  • Execute banking activities, including payment uploads, approvals, and transaction processing
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Analyze general ledger activity and research GAAP-related issues as needed
  • Review profit and loss accounts to ensure proper expense classification and identify variances
  • Track and report on specific expense categories and vendor activity
  • Prepare and distribute cash flow and accounts payable reports to internal stakeholders
  • Reconcile store deposits, bank transactions, and financial system data for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform account reconciliations for utilities, landscaping, and other operational expenses, including accruals
  • Import and validate financial data within ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics GP/Great Plains)
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to resolve issues
  • Collaborate with team members and support cross-functional accounting activities 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience (minimum 5 years in accounting)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in month-end close and account reconciliations
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) or similar
  • Experience with cash management and treasury functions preferred
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in multi-location or retail environments
  • Familiarity with high-volume transaction processing
  • Exposure to GAAP compliance and financial reporting
