The Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children is accepting applications for a Stable Attendant II. This position has an essential role in supporting the hospital's therapeutic riding program by providing exceptional care for horses and other barn animals that contribute to the rehabilitation and well-being of children. This rewarding position offers the opportunity to combine a love of animals with work that directly impacts the lives of patients and their families.
In this role, you will help maintain a safe, welcoming, and well-organized stable environment while ensuring the health and welfare of the animals that support therapeutic programming. This role is ideal for individuals with experience caring for horses and livestock who thrive in an active setting, enjoy working outdoors year-round, and take pride in delivering dependable, compassionate care.
Please note: this position is full time, 40 hours per week,1st shift, 7:00am-5:00pm. Days off: Thursday/Friday/Saturday

At least one year of full time, or equivalent part- time, experience in the care, handling and/or training of horses.
Special Requirements:
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class II Motor Vehicle Operator''s license.
Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
