This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, culturally competent healthcare consistent with the mission, vision, and values of our Tribal Health Department, and in compliance with applicable federal, state, Indian Health Services, and FQHC requirements.

The Medical Director will oversee the clinical team, guide quality improvement initiatives, provide direct patient care, and also help shape the health center's strategic direction in an administrative component. Duties: Medical Director Job Duties:

? Delivers of quality medical care to the St. Croix Tribal Community. ? Provides oversight of delivery of medical care by clinical staff through direct supervision and audits; serves as a mentor and resolves practice-related issues and opportunities. ? Provides professional oversight for advanced practice nurses' collaborative practice agreements. ? Provides professional oversight and assists in development of clinical pharmacist-led direct medical care through collaborative practice agreements. ? Reviews prescribing of controlled substances by clinic providers for appropriateness. ? Ensures continuity and follow-up of care for services for inpatient discharges and other transitions of care. ? Initiates and supports efforts to promote wellness concepts and self-responsibility for health. ? Participates in strategic planning process for the clinic. ? Develops and updates policies and procedures as needed, and as guided by leadership and the Quality and Compliance Department. ? Serves as laboratory director for CLIA waived testing procedures and equipment. ? Collaborate with HIM staff to assure compliance of medical records and HIPAA regulations. ? Promotes and participates in improvement processes for the electronic health record. ? Provides a monthly report to the Health Director outlining any changes, concerns, ideas for clinic work load, level and types of services and processes for the Health Director's review and approval. ? Assists the Health Director as requested in preparation of plans, reports, memos, letters, etc. that may be needed for review by the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin Tribal Council, Indian Health Services or Wisconsin Department of Human Services. ? Attends monthly team management, administrative staff, clinic staff and all-staff meetings. ? Attends and facilitates monthly medical provider meeting. ? Collaborates with local public health departments and other area tribal clinics regarding changing population health trends within the St. Croix Tribal Community. ? Occasional education-related travel may be required. ? Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications ? Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution. ? Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related primary care specialty. ? Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. ? Current, unrestricted DEA registration. ? At least three (3) years of clinical experience in primary care. ? Competence in the use of Microsoft Office computer applications ? Competence in the use of EHR/MDR systems
