Who We Are:
We are the Fuels and Lubricants Division! We perform testing on different types of vehicles, from compact cars to tractor-trailers, off-road equipment, and internal combustion engines from lawn mowers to locomotives. By joining our team, you will receive an additional $500.00 in your first paycheck, minus applicable taxes.
Objectives of this Role:
- Through on-the-job training, you will have the opportunity to work with various types of engines in a hands-on environment.
- Learn about the fuel and lubricant testing we provide.
- Provide fuel and lubricant testing for various clients on different test types in a safe manner.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Follow all written test procedures and written and verbal instructions.
- Communicate with coworkers, supervisors, and project leaders regarding tests.
- Prepare for engine testing by installing and removing test accessories on engines and equipment on test stands.
- Calibrate test equipment used to measure engine performance.
- Observe, monitor, and record test information in a logbook or test cell computer.
- Prepare and label samples.
- Perform routine engine/ stand maintenance.
- Maintain a clean work environment and comply with all safety regulations.
- Maintain standards for working in an environment with high noise levels, fumes, and heat around potentially hazardous material during testing.
Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Automotive courses preferred, but not required.
- Shift work required.
- 2+ years: Vocational or commercial gasoline or diesel automotive experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications i.e. Excel and MS Word.
- Due to project needs, weekends, holidays, overtime, shift work as well as a need to work on scheduled days off with advanced notice may be requested.
- Exposure to solvents, fuels and lubricants; i.e. pentane, gasoline, solvent, diesel, jet fuel, acetone, heptane, ethanol.
- Must follow and adhere to safety requirements.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
