This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Are you passionate about enabling technology partners to build innovative solutions on AWS? Do you thrive on the execution of complex programs that require cross-organizational coordination, stakeholder alignment, and strict delivery timelines? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

The WW Tech Partners Solutions Architecture team drives strategic engagement between AWS and Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partners. We define how ISVs build on, integrate with, and go to market alongside AWS services - shaping the partner technology story and coordinating build-market-sell motions across distributed global teams.

We are hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to own high-visibility programs at the intersection of AWS service strategy and ISV partner engagement. In this role, you will manage programs that determine how strategic partners are aligned to AWS priorities, coordinate cross-functional execution across partner organizations, specialist teams, and service teams, and drive the mechanisms that enable partners to move quickly alongside AWS.

You will manage complex program lifecycles with multiple concurrent workstreams, strict timing constructs, and multi-level approval chains. You will drive process improvement and automation - identifying manual bottlenecks and working with engineering teams to build scalable, repeatable workflows.

This position can be based in Jersey City, Seattle, New York, DC/Arlington, or Austin.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of large, complex technical programs and the associated projects.
  • Drive effective cross-functional teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitments across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • Manage overall initiative and program lifecycles, including timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication, to ensure successful execution.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues, and risks at multiple levels.
  • Create, maintain, and disseminate program information to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architects and other stakeholders to identify gaps, prioritize enhancements for the team initiatives and programs.
  • Proven experience in technical program management, preferably in a cloud computing or software development environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
