About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to our IT infrastructure operations. This role serves as the primary technical authority and escalation point for company-wide server and infrastructure operations, accountable for reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency across the enterprise.

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, deployment, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of our systems. As a key member of the IT team, this role will actively contribute to technical decisions and the overall direction of our infrastructure strategy.

Base salary range is $120,000 - $150,000 a year. The base salary offer will depend on factors such as education, experience, training, skills, qualifications, and location. This position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, equity and a full range of medical and other benefits.

Responsibilities

  • own design decisions, and the ability to execute architecture, deployment, automation, monitoring, and cost analysis
  • Forecast system/infrastructure requirement with comparison between solutions, assess risk, and provide decision-making needs with management
  • Serve as the final technical escalation point across IT and engineering infrastructure, accountable for resolution through architecture decisions, automation, and deep root cause analysis
  • Own the definition and continuous evolution of existing standards across processes, operations and best practices, driving measurable improvements in reliability, efficiency, security, and consistency
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for security coordinators and advisers, leading the remediation of security risks through technical and procedural initiatives, while partnering closely with security teams to align policies, patch management, security baselines, and architectural standards
  • Oversee the implementation of architectural and design changes, ensuring seamless integration with existing services and systems
  • Analyzing IT resource utilization to identify efficiency gaps, and developing forecasts for future resource growth requirements, including detailed cost analysis and budget impact assessments
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient data replication, data protection, and disaster recovery strategies. Ensure reliable service continuity through disciplined execution, defined service guarantees, and regular validation testing.
  • Provide clear, periodic reports to senior management on test outcomes, system readiness, and identified risks, with timely escalation and mitigation plans where gaps are identified.

Qualifications

  • Expert-level proficiency in enterprise operating systems and virtualization
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong technical judgment to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure system and application issues, including conducting root‑cause analysis and executing architectural improvement plans."Architect and oversee complex, cross‑domain integrations between applications, networks, and systems in a production environment
  • Define, Standardize, Govern automation frameworks of recurring operations and base
  • Execute advanced software and hardware integration/improvement/mitigation
  • Provide strategic direction and oversee the detailed segmentation of tasks aligned with the company's information management and technology infrastructure, ensuring execution is consistent with management-defined objectives and priorities
  • Collect and analyze business requirements across multiple functions, both internal and external to IT; design and deliver integration services and technology solutions that optimize operational efficiency while reducing overall cost
  • Strong background of understanding and experience in administration in:
  • Storage such as SAN, NAS, SMB, NFS
  • Database, web applications, automation, and scripting
  • Identity management, such as Active Directory, IPA, and IAM
  • Job automation tool scheduling, such as LSF or similar
  • Monitoring for the various historical data collection and alerting
  • Scripting such as Python, Bash, and others

Preferred Qualifications

  • GCP / AWS / Azure Related matured level operation certificate
  • ITIL Certificate or In-depth knowledge of project planning, including a record of completing a large company-wide project as a PM
  • Familiar with engineering processes and collaboration in experience
  • Understanding of EDA workload and engineering operations
