Your Role

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to join our technology operations team in a hybrid capacity. This role is ideal for a hands-on systems expert with deep Linux administration and production Kubernetes experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving automation initiatives, and supporting modern infrastructure transformation efforts.

The Sr. Systems Engineer will play a key role in maintaining critical systems, managing backup and recovery processes, supporting large-scale cloud migration projects, and improving operational efficiency through automation. We are looking for someone who values long-term career growth, collaborates effectively across teams, and thrives in a stable, mission-driven environment.

This position follows a hybrid work model, with team members working onsite every Wednesday and additional onsite support required when operational needs arise.

Pay Range: $120,000-130,000/annually; + Benefits and additional compensation

Responsibilities

  • Administer, support, and optimize Linux-based infrastructure in production environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving Kubernetes clusters and related platform components.

  • Take ownership of backup, recovery, and data protection processes to ensure operational resilience.

  • Develop and maintain automation solutions that improve system reliability, consistency, and scalability.

  • Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, including cloud migration efforts and platform enhancements.

  • Participate in testing and validation activities associated with system upgrades and cloud adoption projects.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve operational processes.

  • Assist with ongoing maintenance and support of current and future cloud-based environments.

  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code and configuration management efforts.

  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, providing 24/7 operational support during assigned periods.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems administration, systems engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure-focused roles.

  • Strong hands-on expertise administering Linux systems in enterprise production environments.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Kubernetes deployments in production environments.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and platform issues.

  • Experience implementing or supporting automation initiatives within IT operations.

  • Track record of serving in technical execution roles rather than solely advisory or architectural positions.

  • Excellent integrity, professionalism, and accountability.

  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements (U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder).

  • Ability to successfully participate in detailed technical discussions and demonstrate practical knowledge of core technologies.

Why Join Us

  • Contribute to a long-term infrastructure modernization and cloud transformation initiative.

  • Work with a collaborative team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Gain exposure to evolving cloud technologies and enterprise-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Build a lasting career within a stable, mission-driven organization that values teamwork, integrity, and technical expertise.
