Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Cardiac Surgical Tech completes surgical set-ups according to department standards and physician preference cards. The Surgical Tech is a member of the surgical team providing care to the patient and is responsible for maintaining the sterile field; surgical instrumentation; preparation of supplies and equipment; as well as other related duties. Duties include anticipating physician needs at the sterile field, preparing supplies, instruments and equipment. The Surgical Tech is responsible for implementing aseptic technique, practices related to prevention of retained foreign objects, safe medication labeling and handling, anticipatory skills related to the sequence of the procedure, specimen handling, and adhering to department policies, procedures, and practices.

Cardiac Surgical Tech experience required

BLS from AHA or ARC

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
