Eaton's IS AER FMC Aerospace division is currently seeking a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer.Expected annual salary range: $99,000 - $115,000.Location: Los Angeles, CA. On-site Monday-Friday. No relocation assistance. Only candidates within 50 miles of the Los Angeles facility considered. Must be a U.S. person; ITAR compliance required; no sponsorship.Position OverviewThe Sr Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving supplier improvements in the areas of Quality, Delivery, and Lean Manufacturing initiatives, consistent with Eaton Aerospace requirements.ResponsibilitiesManage supplier nonconformances (MRB, escapes, deviations)Drive root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)Verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)Support containment planning and risk mitigationTrack supplier KPIs: Quality (PPM, defect rates), Delivery, Cost of poor quality (COPQ)Maintain Approved Supplier Lists (ASL)Conduct supplier risk assessments and performance reviewsSupport supplier selection during sourcing and NPIOversee and participate in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goodsEvaluate inspection techniques and recommend changesWork with Production, Quality Assurance, Materials and other departments to define quality standards and proceduresReview and analyze inspection test results and oversee the disposition of unaccepted items with affected suppliers and companiesAnalyze supplier performance both in-house on supplier premises as requiredApply standard statistical techniques to analyze and evaluate studiesTeam with suppliers to define and document Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, AIAG Process Control Plans and Inspection plansNegotiate with suppliers to find equitable solutions to identified problemsVisit supplier locations to evaluate quality standards and processesAnswer technical questions regarding commodity quality, long-term feasibility or quality certificationsParticipate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality system surveysImplement and oversee the administration of special programs to recognize suppliers who maintain quality, reliability, and price standardsCommunicate with appropriate personnel regarding significant changesControl nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton proceduresFlow down external/internal quality requirements to suppliersSupport continuous improvement initiativesSupport internal audit requirements in accordance with Eaton proceduresAchieve objectives as detailed by Quality ManagementQualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited institutionMinimum three (3) years of Supplier and/or Quality Engineering experience working with quality systemsITAR compliance: must be a U.S. person and authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorshipNo relocation benefit; only candidates within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA considered (Active‑Duty Military Service member candidates exempt)Preferred QualificationsExperience with Aerospace and/or Automotive suppliersExperience using SAPExperience with complex machining suppliersExperience with special process suppliers (Heat Treating, Plating, Painting)Familiar with major Aerospace primes Quality System and working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001:2016Working knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean toolsPosition Success CriteriaSignificant experience with Supplier Performance Management, Supplier Corrective Actions and Nonconforming Material Dispositions, and MRBExperience with Dock-to-Stock and Skip-lot ProgramsExperience with Supplier Improvement Programs and Supplier Quality PlansWillingness to travel locally and nationally to supplier sitesEEO and Equal OpportunityWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
