POSITION: Sr. Stargazing Experience Lead We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Stargazing Experience Lead to join our team. As a Stargazing Experience Lead, you will lead educational and engaging stargazing tours, helping participants discover the beauty and wonder of the night sky. DUTIES: Lead stargazing events, providing knowledgeable commentary on celestial objects and phenomena. Use telescopes, binoculars, and other equipment to enhance the stargazing experience. Educate participants about astronomy, including constellations, planets, stars, and galaxies. Share interesting facts, myths, and stories related to celestial objects and navigation. Assist participants in identifying and observing celestial objects. Ensure the safety and comfort of all participants during stargazing activities. Organize and set up stargazing equipment before events. Maintain stargazing equipment and report any issues or repairs needed. Stay updated on astronomical events and phenomena to provide timely and accurate information. Develop and update stargazing programs, to include alternative experiences. Train and mentor other stargazing guides. Provide excellent customer service and address any questions or concerns from participants. REQUIREMENTS: Strong knowledge of astronomy and celestial objects. Experience using telescopes, binoculars, and other stargazing equipment. Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and understandable manner. Passion for stargazing and sharing knowledge with others. Friendly and approachable demeanor. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends. Ability to be flexible and adaptable due to weather conditions. Physical ability to set up and carry stargazing equipment. Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Experience in customer service is a plus. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Astronomy, Physics, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in education, guiding tours, or public speaking is highly desirable. WAGE: $24/hour SHIFTS: Hours will vary. Will start part time, can grow to full time. Must have reliable transportation and must be able to work nights and weekends.
