Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsOfficeJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced HL7 Developer to design, develop, and maintain healthcare data interfaces that enable seamless interoperability between clinical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in HL7 standards, healthcare data workflows, and integration engines, ensuring accurate, secure, and compliant data exchange across systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain HL7 interfaces (v2.x, v3, CDA, FHIR) between healthcare systemsBuild and support integrations with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts)Configure and manage integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf)Analyze, transform, and map healthcare data formats and message structuresTroubleshoot interface issues, message failures, and data discrepanciesImplement data validation, error handling, and logging mechanismsEnsure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare data security standardsCollaborate with clinical, technical, and vendor teams to define integration requirementsSupport real-time and batch data exchange workflowsMaintain documentation for interfaces, mappings, and workflowsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, or related field10+ years of experience in healthcare IT, interface development, or systems integration.7+ years of hands‑on experience with HL7 v2.x, HL7 FHIR, X12, or other healthcare messaging standards.Experienced in Java, JavaScript, or similar scripting languagesExperience with JSON, RESTful APIs, and XMLStrong knowledge of HL7 v2.x messaging standards (ADT, ORU, ORM, etc.)Experience with FHIR APIs and modern interoperability frameworksHands‑on experience with integration engines (Mirth Connect preferred)Understanding of healthcare workflows and clinical dataMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.Preferred QualificationsExperience with HL7 v3, CDA/CCD documentsFamiliarity with FHIR resources and SMART on FHIRKnowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, DICOM, X12)Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, or other major EHR systemsUnderstanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Certification in HL7 or healthcare integration technologiesKey SkillsHL7 message parsing and transformationData mapping and interface developmentProblem-solving and debuggingCommunication with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAttention to detail and data accuracyCompensation and BenefitsThe salary range estimated for this position based in Indiana is $135,800.00–$203,750.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
