Sr. Staff Accountant

Sr. Staff AccountantLHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well‑established organization in North County San Diego to identify a Sr. Staff Accountant to join their growing finance team.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the accounting process, working independently, and contributing across financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and operational accounting functions.The ideal candidate will have strong full‑cycle accounting experience, a solid understanding of GAAP, and the ability to manage month‑end close activities with minimal supervision.Key ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle general ledger accounting activitiesPerform month-end and year-end close processesPrepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entriesComplete bank and balance sheet reconciliationsPrepare accurate and timely financial statements and supporting schedulesAssist with budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysisMaintain and improve internal controls and accounting proceduresAnalyze revenue and expense activity and ensure proper account classificationsSupport external audits and provide required financial documentationTrack grant expenditures and assist with compliance reportingPrepare financial, statistical, and management reportsPartner with leadership on financial and operational initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)4+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong full-cycle accounting experienceExperience managing month-end close with limited supervisionFinancial statement preparation experienceKnowledge of budgeting and internal controlsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsWhy You'll Love This OpportunityOpportunity to own the accounting process from start to finishBroad exposure to financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and operational accountingCollaborative and team‑oriented environmentHigh visibility within the organizationOpportunity to make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow your careerPay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per yearSearch managed by: Erin KileBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401(k) plan.
