Senior Software Engineer - San Francisco, CA (onsite)

A fast growing AI platform supporting more than one thousand physical locations and tens of millions of calls every year is expanding its engineering team. The company is scaling from millions of calls to billions and building new product lines that customers are already requesting. This role is ideal for engineers who operate at a high level of technical depth, ownership, and architectural influence. You will help shape systems that do not exist anywhere else and build technology that must perform at millisecond speed and massive scale.

This is a small, high performing engineering group backed by top tier investors. The environment is fast paced, product driven, and highly collaborative. Engineers work directly with founders and have meaningful influence on technical direction, product strategy, and long term architecture. The team values clarity, strong communication, and the ability to think through complex problems before writing code.

What You Will Do

• Work across the realtime voice platform, customer dashboard, agent runtime, and analytics pipeline
• Design and build features that maximize impact while minimizing complexity
• Architect systems that meet strict performance requirements at massive scale
• Help scale the platform more than one hundred times beyond current traffic
• Collaborate with product and leadership to define what to build, not just how to build it
• Operate with a level of ownership that shapes the foundation of the company’s technology
• Start as an individual contributor with a path to leading initiatives and guiding others as the team grows
• Participate in hiring, mentorship, and technical decision making

What You Bring

• Six or more years of software engineering experience
• Strong Python and TypeScript
• Experience working at scale in strong technology companies
• Startup experience and comfort in fast moving environments
• Clear and articulate technical communication
• Strong product sense and ability to prioritize effectively
• Frontend experience with React is helpful
• Experience with scalable infrastructure, microservices, containerization, and distributed systems is strongly preferred
• GraphQL experience is a plus, especially Relay
• Cloud experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is helpful

Preferred Backgrounds

• Engineers who have operated in environments where reliability, scale, and performance are non negotiable
• Experience building systems that require millisecond level responsiveness
• Experience designing platforms that must scale rapidly and reliably
• Exposure to high growth or high intensity engineering cultures

• Candidates who have only worked in non technology environments such as retail or banking

Compensation and Location

• Compensation typically ranges from $200K - $300K
• Top tier candidates may be considered for compensation above this range
