Division Specific Information

The Immunodiagnostics Division (IDD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific aims to dramatically improve the management of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases by providing healthcare professionals with advanced diagnostics technologies and clinical expertise. Our key businesses: allergy, autoimmunity, and systems.

Position Summary:

As part of the Learning & Development (L&D) team, the Sr Sales Training Specialist will participate in the development of sales training strategies and tactics aligned with the needs of the ImmunoDiagnostics Division of the Specialty Diagnostics Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S. near a major airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales force personnel through remote, in-person and field-based training activities in the U.S.
  • Design, develop and implement training activities, working with the internal L&D team, sales leadership, marketing and external training agencies to provide the best possible trainings
  • Develop effective and ongoing communications with field sales and marketing management to help understand the sales training needs of field sales representatives and to develop specific sales training objectives and strategies to meet these needs
  • Lead the Training Needs Analysis and Instructional Design efforts for the L&D team
  • Help to manage the logistical planning and organizing of training activities, and of all assigned training programs (class preparation, facilitator engagement, and set up)
  • Curriculum development and implementation on new or restructured sales concepts and standard processes with measurements for effectiveness
  • Provide directed follow-up and feedback to sales personnel and management team

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years successful and applicable education, healthcare, sales and/or marketing training experience, with diagnostic sales experience preferred.
  • Possess thorough understanding of selling skills and demonstrate excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to "think on your feet", organized and results focused
  • Instructional Design experience and certification preferred
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred
  • Experience working with content creation platforms (e.g. Easygenerator, Articulate, etc.) preferred
  • Adult Learning Principles experience and certification preferred
  • Professional Selling Skills Certification preferred
  • Possess understanding of current healthcare environment

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of three years successful and applicable, education, sales and/or marketing training experience
  • Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
