Quality Assurance Engineer - Boston, MA

The Quality Assurance Engineer (Investment and Trading) is a member of the Global information Technology team responsible for validating end-to-end trading systems workflows. Working in an Agile environment with developers and business analysts, and product owners and business partners such as portfolio specialists, and traders, this individual will be required to analyze and test complex end to end trading systems workflows, and communicate to the team clear results, issues, and at times recommendations visualization techniques.

Manager Notes: This is a mid-senior level role that will support the Trading technology team. Candidate must be local to Boston and has strong communication, collaboration, and innovative skills. 5+ years of experience at minimum. Manager is looking for someone with UI automation experience. In addition, working experience with Selenium and Test Complete are highly preferred. This role will be involved with testing software applications like the management system for trading. Candidate must also be able to expand on automation task related questions. Manager highlighted backlogs that require attention and is seeking support to expand automation efforts in order to improve turnaround times.

Required Skills

Experience with financial software testing is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of industry standard best practices as related to software testing.
Experience in software application design, development and testing process.
Ability to translate from business requirements to technical testing solutions.
Strong ability to manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources.
Good communication skills with ability to work with other members in a scrum team
Strong partnership and relationship building skills.
Experience with Charles River Investment Management system is preferred.
Experience with SQL.
Good experience in Agile scrum framework.
Experience with the JIRA platform for SDLC

Additional (for automation)

Hands-on experience with automation tool like Selenium, Test Complete etc.
Experience with micro service testing and automation.
Experience with UI Automation.
Familiarity with Java and Python

Job Responsibilities

Create comprehensive test plans with well-defined, reusable test cases from acceptance criteria defined in scrum stories.
Execute software testing to include functional testing, system testing, regression testing etc.
Perform peer reviews of testing artifacts and demonstrate to the technology team and business participants their test results, evidence, and related analysis.
Work with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand the requirements surrounding new or enhanced features to write test plan documents, test cases that adhere to company standards.
Assist with the development, integration, and coordination of cross-organization test projects.
Generate effective status and progress reports to the QA Manager and project team managers.

This is a contract role with compensation ranging from $70 to $80/hr, depending on qualifications and experience.
