Position Summary:
The Senior Project Manager (PM) will lead the largest and most complex technology initiative undertaken by the Firm: the multi-year conversion of the Firm’s Enterprise Immigration Practice Software platform to a modern, next-generation system. This role is responsible for the successful delivery of a highly customized and integration-heavy transformation involving more than 180 customizations and integrations, executed over an approximately two-year timeline. The Senior PM will serve as the central orchestration point for the project, driving structure, clarity, and alignment across technical teams, practice leadership, and Firm administration. This individual must possess exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to translate complex, highly detailed work into clear, actionable information for senior stakeholders. The role requires a project leader who simplifies complexity rather than amplifying it, enabling teams to remain focused and productive.
Essential Functions:
Serve as overall project lead for the Firm-wide conversion of the Enterprise Immigration Practice Software platform.
Develop, maintain, and execute a comprehensive, multi-year project plan encompassing system conversion, customization remediation, integrations, data migration, testing, training, and deployment.
Break down a highly complex transformation into clear, manageable phases, workstreams, milestones, and deliverables.
Coordinate and align work across the IT Department, Knowledge & Innovation, Finance & Accounting, Client Intake, and the Immigration Practice Group.
Direct and monitor the work of developers, business analysts, engineers, vendors, and external consultants involved in the initiative.
Manage reconciliation, redesign, or redevelopment of more than 180 customizations and system integrations.
Establish and govern project standards, documentation, reporting cadence, and change control processes.
Identify risks early, proactively manage dependencies, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Communicate project status, risks, decisions, and progress clearly and concisely to Senior Shareholders, C-level executives, and Firm leadership.
Translate technical progress and challenges into business-focused updates suitable for executive audiences.
Serve as primary point of accountability for project timelines, scope, quality, and outcomes.
Facilitate executive decision-making by presenting options, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
Ensure strong collaboration between technical teams and practice leadership to support adoption and operational readiness.
Oversee vendor performance, contractual obligations, and delivery quality.
Support change management, training coordination, and go-live readiness activities.
Promote transparency, accountability, and predictability across all phases of the program.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related discipline; or equivalent experience.
10+ years of progressive project management experience, including leadership of large-scale, enterprise-wide technology initiatives.
Demonstrated experience leading multi-year, high-complexity system implementations or platform conversions.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage Senior Shareholders, C-level executives, and Firm leadership.
Strong ability to translate detailed technical work into clear, simplified messaging for non-technical audiences.
Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Excellent risk management, issue resolution, and decision facilitation skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities without unnecessary complexity.
Experience in a law firm or professional services organization.
Preferred Qualifications
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Experience with enterprise legal or case management systems, particularly immigration-related platforms.
Experience coordinating large numbers of customizations, integrations, and data migration activities.
Familiarity with Agile, hybrid, or iterative delivery models within enterprise programs.
Experience working with governance committees and executive steering groups.
