We are hiring a Sr. Project Manager - Civil Site Development to lead heavy civil construction projects for large growing contractor in the Kansas City metro. This Senior Project Manager oversees the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction and buyout through field execution and closeout. The role partners directly with clients, superintendents, and design teams to deliver civil site development work on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities - Sr. Project Manager - Civil Site Development
Serve as the primary client contact from contract award through project completion, leading all owner-architect-contractor meetings and managing external communications
Coordinate daily with field superintendents to align scheduling, safety, and quality goals while delivering weekly look-ahead reports for internal and external stakeholders
Direct project buyout activities including subcontract negotiation, purchase orders, value engineering, and shop drawing review in partnership with executive leadership
Monitor project financials monthly by reviewing cost-to-budget reports, preparing month-end billing, tracking receivables and payables, and presenting job fade/gain analysis to management
Lead preconstruction kickoff meetings, manage the change order and schedule-impact documentation process, and conduct post-project reviews upon completion
Qualifications - Sr. Project Manager - Civil Site Development
Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent field experience considered
Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil, site work, or infrastructure construction
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and construction accounting software such as Vista by Viewpoint or similar ERP platforms
Working knowledge of Critical Path Method scheduling and CPM software
Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets typically ranging from $2M to $20M or more
Preferred Qualifications - Senior Civil Construction Project Manager
Prior estimating experience or dual estimating-and-field background
PMP, CCM, or OSHA 30-Hour certification
Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, or Bluebeam Revu
Active participation in AGC, ASCE, or regional construction trade organizations
Physical Requirements - Sr. Project Manager - Civil Site Development
Ability to visit active civil construction job sites in varying weather and terrain conditions, including uneven ground, mud, and noise
Standing and walking on sites for extended periods
Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs (plans, equipment, samples)
Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record; regular travel within the Kansas City metro area
Standard weekday schedule with flexibility for early starts, project milestones, or client-driven deadlines
