SR Project Engineer I

Please note: this role requires experience and/or knowledge of the casting process.JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:Under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager, the Sr. Project Engineer I is responsible for managing projects from the design stage, all the way through production approval. Including tooling, fixtures, gauging, production routings, schedules, dimensional approval, costs, profitability, and customer contact / correspondence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary.

• Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
• Prioritize customer satisfaction, timeliness, and quality.
• Manage and facilitates all part number project activities in multiple facilities including tool design, gauge design, and supplier selection.
• Leads all APQP process for all assigned part projects.
• Acts as a mentor and resource to other Engineer's at a level I & II. May be responsible for Engineering Intern program.
• Act as an influencer and contributing member to the plant management team on process improvement projects, OKR's (i.e. OpEx planning, CI activities).
• Investigate and correct part number scrap/defect related issues.
• Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing procedures.
• Leads the plant management team during operational review meetings with the executive team. May stand in for the plant manager during the meeting.
• Ability to stand in for Process/Manufacturing engineer as it relates to new part activity.
• Ability to effectively manage and problem solve through customer line down situation, tight project development timelines, and quality concerns.
• Participate in activities related to audits, regulatory, customer, and registrar.
• Assist in company technical advancement through research and development.
• Perform customer technical sales presentations/seminars at customer sites.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a bachelor's degree in technical engineering field from a four-year college or university and 5+ years' experience in a foundry setting; and or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in aerospace or defense industries a plus. Prior experience with CAD, FEA, and MiniTab software.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires the ability to operate various equipment to include various precision measuring devices and lifting devices. Requires a broad knowledge of tooling, material characteristics, and general manufacturing and machining practices. Should be knowledgeable and/or familiar with applicable ISO/IATF/AS and quality system requirements and policies. Be knowledgeable of 3D solid modeling (SolidCast) and NX (UniGraphics). Apply GD&T principles and continuous flow manufacturing principles. Proficient with MS Office Suite products.
