The University of New Mexicos UNM Facilities Design & Construction FDC department seeks a Senior Project Construction Manager to join our vibrant, committed team of professionals who support the built environment at UNMs campuses across the state. UNM FDC provides seamless delivery of professional support services to internal clients using best practices in capital project planning, development, and construction.
The Sr. Project Construction Manager will manage all aspects of assigned university capital improvement projects from initial scoping and programming through completion and occupancy. They will facilitate, coordinate, and lead the execution of multiple major and minor capital projects to ensure that project goals are met on-time and within budget. Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and maintaining project job files, directly responsible for scope, budget, and schedule development of assigned projects, and tracking of project schedule, budget, and project risks. • Reviewing, negotiating, and processing change requests and change orders. • Overseeing procurement of project design consultants, contractors, vendors, and suppliers. • Managing project design bids, construction, and move-in for internal clients to ensure design and function are achieved and consistent with overall institutional guidelines and standards. • Performing quality control inspections to ensure adherence to contract specifications, institutional standards, and industry standards. • Coordinating and managing activities of consultants, contractors, vendor personnel, and suppliers, monitoring contracts for compliance and cost control. • Directly managing FDC Project Construction Managers and/or Associate Project Construction Managers to provide leadership guidance and mentorship on their projects and tasks.
Implementing and helping develop departmental processes, procedures, and policies to support optimum staff performance is also a key responsibility.
