As a Sr Program Controls Specialist here at Honeywell you will be responsible for providing advanced program analysis, cost and schedule governance, process improvement, and performance metrics across large, complex programs. This role partners closely with the Project Managers and Operations to establish program plans, develop and maintain cost and schedule baselines, and ensure execution discipline across multiple sites.

The Sr. Program Controls Specialist delivers cost analysis, process improvements, and performance tracking for complex, multi‑site programs, partnering with cross‑functional teams and supporting global program management and business leaders.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 5 plus years Project Controls (cost management) industry experience
  • MS Office and SAP applications (Project Accounting module)
  • Finance & cash flow - concepts, processes, planned, actual, forecast
  • Hands-on experience with project planning and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Controls & Financial Management

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret detailed cost, schedule, and performance reports for complex programs.
  • Lead Estimate at Completion (EAC) management, including cost walks, variance analysis, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Ensure strong cost and schedule integration across program baselines and execution updates.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities; perform root cause and impact analysis and recommend corrective actions.

Compliance & Governance

  • Lead compliance change management activities, ensuring adherence to SOX, internal controls, and Honeywell governance requirements.
  • Support audits and internal reviews by maintaining accurate, timely, and defensible program data.
  • Ensure timely and compliant monthly reporting in alignment with corporate and business expectations.

Process Improvement & Tools

  • Recommend and drive improvements to program controls processes, tools, and standard work.
  • Support consistent adoption of Honeywell program management methodologies and digital governance tools.
  • Identify gaps in execution and propose scalable solutions to improve predictability and performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Proactively and effectively communicate with Project Management teams, Business leadership, Finance, and customers.
  • Translate complex financial and program data into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Support leadership reviews by preparing high-quality summaries and executive-level content.

Leadership, Coaching & Mentoring

  • Coach and mentor Project Analysts and junior Program Controls resources to develop technical skills, business acumen, and controls discipline.
  • Provide functional guidance and best practices to strengthen the overall Program Controls community.
  • Lead by influence in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
