Among the many things we do, we assist with the selection and procurement of proven brand-name equipment, install high-purity stainless steel piping and CIP systems, & restore and recondition used equipment to pristine working condition. As a Sr. Process Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and developing these systems and managing each project from concept through start-up/commissioning. You will also serve as a vital technical resource and communicator across clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
**The is not a utility-focused role. We are looking for someone with strong food & beverage industry experience. **We have an office in Schnecksville, PA, so anyone in that area will be given priority. Otherwise, only candidates located on the East Coast will be considered.
Responsibilities
Lead technical reviews, present equipment recommendations, and communicate process concepts clearly to customers and internal teams
Review client specifications, P&IDs and drawings to understand process requirements and constraints, recommending appropriate equipment sizes, pump types, and configuration
Support customers in choosing equipment that best aligns with process goals, sanitary standards, and long-term reliability
Develop detailed cost estimates for process equipment, labor, materials, and utilities based on customer specifications and internal standards
Requisition or purchase essential equipment and materials
Prepare and review technical proposals, including scope of work, timelines, and budgetary estimates
Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and customer expectations, balancing technical feasibility with budget constraints
Collaborate with plant managers, engineers, and project teams to maximize efficiency, identify efficient, cost-effective equipment solutions and ensure customer satisfaction
Conduct technical presentations to integrators, engineering firms and consultants regarding specifics on WAT equipment offerings
Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements.
Provide supervision for field personnel and act as a mentor to junior engineers and applications staff
Travel to customer facilities for site visits, project oversight, etc. as required (20–30%)
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Biological Systems, or related field) required
Minimum of 5+ years of process engineering experience (or equivalent education/experience)
Strong knowledge of process design, sanitary equipment, and fluid systems
Demonstrated experience leading customer projects from concept through execution
Professional communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Process design software knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Strongly Preferred:
Supervisory or leadership experience in process engineering
AutoCAD experience
Experience in the sanitary process (pumps and valves), food & beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical industries
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is typically performed in an office environment but requires regular travel to client facilities, production plants, or construction job sites
Noise levels vary; industrial sites and production facilities may be loud
May require standing, walking, climbing, balancing, and lifting during site visits
Overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays may be required depending on project demands
