Senior Portfolio Manager (Business Development Manager)

Location:

Hybrid (2–3 days onsite with clients and project teams)

Compensation:

$140,000 – $200,000 Base + 20–30% Bonus

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and expand relationships with key clients, serving as a trusted advisor

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of strategic accounts

  • Maintain strong communication with clients and external consultants

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end execution of large-scale industrial projects ($1MM+ fees)

  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and risk

  • Ensure delivery meets quality, safety, and performance expectations

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities

  • Develop proposals and support contract negotiations

  • Contribute to company growth within metallurgy and industrial markets

Financial & Operational Management

  • Manage project financials including pricing strategies and cash flow

  • Drive profitability and cost-effective project execution

  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular client reporting

Problem Solving & Performance Optimization

  • Anticipate risks and implement effective solutions

  • Improve efficiency and productivity across projects

  • Lead teams to deliver innovative, high-quality outcomes


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of business development experience in professional or consultative services

  • Strong client relationship management and account development skills

  • Experience managing complex, high-value projects

  • Knowledge of safety, contracts, liability, and compliance

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in metallurgy or heavy industrial markets

  • Background working with Fortune 500 clients

  • Proven success managing multimillion-dollar engineering projects

  • Experience balancing business development with project execution


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $140,000 – $200,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE) / Bonus Structure: 20–30% performance-based bonus
