Job Description:
Role Title -- Sr Planning Engineer (1 HC)
The Role
Responsible for managing critical infrastructure capacity, growth and replacement across the network. Is knowledgeable in Mechanical systems, AC distribution, UPS, STS, Generator, site civil activities, knowledgeable in the application of these technologies and systems in Telecommunications facilities. Submits project capacity triggers as necessary to support network growth. Forecasts and trends Critical systems growth to produce capacity triggers for system relief. Develops plans to augment capacity as needed.
The Main Responsibilities
- Triggers projects utilizing the most feasible, practical, and economical means.
- Performs engineering work and applied research, development and design of new projects, including design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of equipment and devices.
- Skilled in planning and/or engineering.
- Analyzes complex systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting and sizing critical infrastructure to cost effectively meet the requirements given.
- Must be capable of handling moderately complex engineering assignments.
- Configures systems to user environments.
- Supports acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services.
- May act as a technical project leader or provide leadership to Engineering team.
- Reads and understands complex Electrical onelines, mechanical, structural, architectural and pipe drawings.
- Knows AutoCAD, can create and update drawings (floor plans, onelines, etc)
- Requires limited direction and guidance.
What We Look For in a Candidate
- Bachelors degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
- 6+ years of related experience
- 4+ years of related experience with a Masters Degree
