Position Overview
The Sr. National Account Manager is responsible for driving growth through the acquisition, development, and expansion of high-value national and major accounts. This strategic sales leader executes complex sales initiatives, builds long-term customer relationships, and delivers tailored solutions that align with the Company's business objectives. Serving as a key contributor within the National Sales Team, this role manages large-scale opportunities, collaborates cross-functionally to support operational excellence, and plays a pivotal part in shaping go-to-market strategies for both new and existing customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by prospecting, cold calling, and delivering compelling presentations on company pricing, products, and promotions to national, high-revenue, and major coffee and foodservice customers.
- Execute strategic sales plans to achieve or exceed performance targets and KPIs, while effectively resolving customer issues.
- Analyze customer and market trends to uncover growth opportunities within existing accounts and target markets.
- Build and maintain strong, multi-level relationships with key stakeholders to support customer retention and satisfaction.
- Drive new business acquisition and manage high-value national accounts, holding accountability for individual sales goals within the National Sales Team.
- Manage distributor relationships, when applicable, to ensure product availability for new accounts and coordinate closely with Supply Chain to support service excellence.
- Oversee the setup process for all national accounts, ensuring smooth onboarding and operational alignment.
- Participate in the Price Committee to help shape competitive pricing strategies and trade promotions that align with company objectives.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows and association events to promote brand awareness and business development.
- Contribute to the development of the company's five-year strategic plan, annual operating plan, and major promotional and product launch initiatives.
- Prepare detailed sales reports summarizing performance metrics, market conditions, business opportunities, and initiative outcomes.
- Support marketing efforts by contributing to inventory planning, pricing strategies, promotional program execution, and marketing audits.
- Collaborate with Marketing to develop and implement market-wide and account-specific promotional campaigns, new product launches, and limited-time offers.
- Mentor and develop National Account Managers to strengthen team capability and performance.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university preferred.
- 7 years of successful CPG sales experience, specifically with national or regional, high-revenue accounts-preferably in coffee service or foodservice-or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Membership in a trade-related association is preferred.
- Advanced account management skills with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organize complex projects.
- Advanced PowerPoint proficiency and professional presentation skills.
- Strong public speaking and executive-level presentation abilities, including the capability to present to the Senior Management Team (SMT), Executive Management Team (EMT), and Board of Directors.
