Are you a Mechanical Engineer who excels at turning complex designs into constructible reality? We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our growing Phoenix-based team. This is a critical role supporting the landmark Mining Project, requiring a dynamic professional who can balance high-level engineering management in the office with active site presence in Tucson, AZ.
You will be the central point of integration, ensuring that multidisciplinary design teams are aligned, uncertainty is managed, and engineering deliverables are fit-for-purpose, safe, and operationally viable.
Technical Integration: Lead and coordinate all engineering functions across the project lifecycle—from Pre-Feasibility (PFS) and Feasibility (FS) through to EPCM/EPC execution.
Multidisciplinary Leadership: Manage engineering teams across large studies and projects, ensuring seamless interfaces between Project Controls, Procurement, Construction, and the Client.
Safety & Integrity: Champion "Design for Safety" principles, ensuring all designs comply with MSHA/US legislation, and leading critical risk assessments and HAZOPs.
Operational Excellence: Ensure engineering designs are not just technically sound, but constructible and innovative. Implement continuous improvement through value engineering and the latest technologies.
Project Stewardship: Develop and manage engineering schedules that support procurement and construction timelines, ensuring quality control and minimizing rework.
Mentorship: Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred).
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred (or the immediate ability to obtain one).
Experience: 10+ years of relevant engineering experience specifically within Mining, Minerals, or Heavy Industrial projects.
EPCM Mastery: Proven experience working within an EPCM delivery environment, managing design, cost, and schedule performance.
Commodity Knowledge: A strong background in Copper or other base metals projects is essential.
Systems Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of engineering software and the MS Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Outlook).
Mobility: Ability to maintain a consistent site presence in Tucson, AZ to support active project requirements.
