We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, layout, and upgrade of mechanical systems within advanced technology manufacturing and plant environments. This role will focus on HVAC systems, piping, hydronic systems, mechanical facility components, and equipment installation support. The right person will have strong experience with plant system layouts, facility upgrades, P&IDs, and cross-functional project coordination in complex industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering design and support activities for plant upgrades, facility improvements, and new equipment installations
Develop and review designs for HVAC systems, utility piping, hydronic systems, and other mechanical facility infrastructure
Support plant system layout development for manufacturing, utility, and process-related mechanical systems
Prepare and review P&IDs, design drawings, equipment layouts, and engineering documentation
Coordinate mechanical design efforts with operations, facilities, process, electrical, and project teams
Support installation and integration of manufacturing tools and related facility systems
Evaluate existing plant systems and develop upgrade recommendations to improve capacity, reliability, and performance
Manage project tasks, timelines, and deliverables using MS Project or similar scheduling tools
Support design reviews, construction coordination, field issue resolution, and startup activities
Ensure engineering work aligns with applicable codes, standards, safety requirements, and project objectives
Provide technical guidance during design, construction, and commissioning phases
Assist in troubleshooting mechanical system issues and identifying practical engineering solutions
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
10+ years of mechanical engineering experience
Strong experience with HVAC systems, piping, and hydronic systems
Experience with mechanical facility components and plant system layouts
Experience supporting plant upgrades, facility modifications, and equipment installations
Strong understanding of P&IDs and mechanical design documentation
Experience working in advanced technology manufacturing, industrial facilities, or similarly complex environments
Proficiency with MS Project or similar project scheduling tools
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities across engineering and project execution activities
Preferred Qualifications
PE or EIT
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD
Experience supporting construction, installation, and startup of plant systems
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and facility teams
Strong knowledge of facility infrastructure and utility distribution systems in manufacturing environments
