Akkodis is seeking a Sr Mechanical Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate with experience designing and developing aerospace products and systems, supporting product development, engineering analysis, and manufacturing optimization initiatives.
Rate Range: $50/hour to $59/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Sr Mechanical Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design and develop aerospace and mechanical components using NX and Teamcenter, supporting the full product development lifecycle from concept through release.
Perform engineering analyses, weight optimization studies, and design evaluations to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance.
Create and review engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards and company design requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for engine and APU-related systems and components.
Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), cost estimation, and product improvement initiatives to enhance quality and production efficiency.
Participate in technical reviews, customer presentations, and Voice of Customer activities to ensure products meet customer and business needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
6+ years of mechanical design and engineering experience.
Strong expertise in NX and Teamcenter, with experience in engine or Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) design.
Proven experience applying ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, including creating and reviewing engineering drawings for complex mechanical systems.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $59.00 per hour
