Amazon MGM Studios is one of the largest and most ambitious content studios in the world, producing and acquiring film and television across every genre and geography. The Prime Video Finance Analytics organization supports this business with a centralized team of 40+ technical specialists spanning data engineering, business intelligence, data science, and product development. This team powers the data platforms and reporting that inform how content is planned, evaluated, and optimized across the entire Prime Video portfolio.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Studios Analytics to serve as the primary analytics partner to the Amazon MGM Studios Finance and Strategy organizations. Based in Los Angeles and embedded alongside Studios leadership, you will own the analytics relationship with some of the most senior decision-makers in the content business, translating their most pressing questions about content performance, portfolio strategy, and operational efficiency into rigorous, scalable, data-driven solutions.

In this role, you will lead a team of business intelligence engineers and data engineers dedicated to Studios analytics. You will set the vision for how analytics supports the Studios business, own the prioritization of your teams roadmap, and drive delivery of dashboards, automated reporting, and analytical tooling that give Studios leaders real-time visibility into the performance of their content. You will partner closely with centralized data engineering, product development, and financial reporting teams to ensure your team leverages shared infrastructure, governed datasets, and existing platforms rather than building in isolation. Maintaining consistency across the broader Prime Video analytics ecosystem is critical.

You will be a thought leader for analytics within the Studio. You will represent the analytics function in senior leadership forums, influence how content performance data is structured and surfaced, and raise the bar on how data informs content decisions. You will identify opportunities to automate high-volume, manual workflows, including talent-facing presentations, portfolio summaries, and compliance reporting. You will also drive adoption of AI-powered tooling to accelerate delivery and scale your teams impact.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for building and developing a high-performing team in Los Angeles. This means recruiting top talent, setting technical standards, and fostering a culture of analytical rigor, speed, and customer obsession. You will manage the full lifecycle of analytics delivery, from problem framing and stakeholder alignment through to production-quality outputs that are trusted by Studios leadership.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data engineering leadership, with a proven track record of partnering with senior business stakeholders in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. You are equally comfortable diving into the technical details of a data pipeline and presenting insights to a room of VPs. You think holistically across organizational boundaries, build collaborative relationships, and have a bias toward automation and scalable solutions over manual work. Experience in media, entertainment, or content analytics is preferred but not required. What matters most is your ability to translate complex business problems into clear analytical frameworks and deliver results that drive decisions.

Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the primary analytics partner to Studios Finance and Strategy leadership. Understand their most critical business questions and ensure they have timely, accurate data to inform content and portfolio decisions.

  2. Set organizational priorities by balancing stakeholder needs, business impact, and technical feasibility. Define the Studios analytics roadmap and ensure the team focuses on the highest-leverage work.

  3. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of dashboards, automated reporting, and analytical tooling that give Studios leaders real-time visibility into content performance and portfolio health.

  4. Drive automation of high-volume manual workflows including talent-facing presentations, slate summaries, and compliance reporting.

  5. Partner with centralized product development, data engineering, and financial reporting teams to influence platform roadmaps and maintain consistency with enterprise-wide data governance standards.

  6. Own AI integration and adoption for Studios analytics, leveraging the broader organizations AI capabilities to accelerate delivery and scale output.

  7. Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing team. Set technical standards, mentor team members, and build a culture of analytical rigor and customer obsession.

  8. Represent the analytics function in senior leadership forums, communicating insights and providing a point of view on how data should inform content strategy.

So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
