Overview
This position develops and executes category strategies, execution, and leads the day-to-day performance of a defined portfolio of direct and indirect spend categories, including Equipment, Parts & Consumables, Transportation & Logistics, Information Technology, Professional & Outside Services, Facilities & Office Management, and Travel & Expense. This role is accountable for translating CSC business priorities across Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, and Field Service into measurable cost, quality, risk, and value outcomes.
The Senior Manager partners closely with senior functional leaders, provides direction and guidance to sourcing analysts and team members, and serves as the primary liaison to strategic suppliers and third-party sourcing partners.
This role operates with functional authority over its assigned category portfolio, and executes against sourcing roadmaps established in partnership with the Director of Strategic Sourcing and business leadership, and builds credibility through delivery consistency, category and market expertise, and strong cross-functional relationships.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & Sourcing Execution
Develop and execute multi-year category strategies and sourcing roadmaps plans aligned with business objectives across assigned direct and indirect categories.
Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including the design and execution of RFI/RFP/RFQ events, reverse auctions, and other competitive bid processes.
Build and maintain category plans and a proactive sourcing pipeline using spend analytics, contract data, and demand forecasts.
Lead complex supplier negotiations and contract execution, partnering with Legal to ensure favorable, compliant terms and conditions.
Drive measurable Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) reductions, cost avoidance, working-capital improvements, and other value-creation outcomes.
Supplier & Relationship Management
Manage strategic supplier relationships, including performance reviews, scorecards, SLAs, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Conduct market research, supplier benchmarking, and competitive analysis to anticipate market shifts and inform sourcing decisions.
Identify, assess, and mitigate supplier, category, and supply-continuity risks.

What we're looking for
Required Education & Experience:
Experience leading complex sourcing initiatives, supplier negotiations, and contract management across multiple categories.
Strong understanding of category management, strategic sourcing methodologies, supplier relationship management, and Total Cost of Ownership
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders and senior leaders across multiple functions.
Strong analytical, financial-modeling, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable recommendations.
Ability to independently manage multiple priorities, lead through ambiguity, and deliver results.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, e-sourcing/eRFx and contract-lifecycle (CLM) tools, and ERP/P2P systems (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, or comparable).
Continuous-improvement mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, finance, or business administration; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive strategic sourcing/procurement experience, including demonstrated experience leading sourcing initiatives and managing supplier relationships in assigned categories.
