    POSITION SUMMARYThis role provides global leadership for electrical safety and commissioning safety across Vertiv's products, services, and installation activities. The position is accountable for establishing and operationalizing best-in-class controls to prevent serious injuries and fatalities (LIFE exposures), with a primary focus on high-energy electrical systems and multi-contractor commissioning environments.The Senior Manager partners closely with Services, Engineering, and EHS teams to:Drive consistent, safe execution of commissioning globallyDefine and standardize safe systems of workEnsure compliance with applicable regulatory and statutory requirementsReduce exposure through practical field controls, auditing, and governanceRESPONSIBILITIES1. Global Commissioning Safety ExecutionLead global alignment on safe execution of commissioning activities , particularly in high-energy environmentsEnsure consistent application of controls across regions, teams, and project typesSupport field teams in managing real-time risk and decision-making under schedule pressure2. Standards, Procedures, and Safe Systems of WorkDevelop and maintain global standards for:Electrical safety (arc flash, lockout/tagout, energized work)Commissioning practices and task executionHigh-risk activities in construction and service environmentsEnsure standards are practical, scalable, and consistently applied3. Multi-Contractor Environment & Work CoordinationDefine expectations for safe work in complex, multi-contractor construction environmentsClarify roles, responsibilities, and isolation ownership across Vertiv, customers, and third partiesEstablish requirements for contractor alignment and shared accountability4. Global Services Alignment & Field IntegrationPartner with global Services leadership to ensure procedures are executable in real-world conditionsDrive adoption through collaboration, field engagement, and continuous feedback loopsAlign EHS and Services organizations on practical implementation and expectations5. Safe Design & NPDI IntegrationPartner with Engineering to embed engineering controls into products and systemsInfluence NPDI processes to ensure design for safe commissioning, serviceability, and reduced exposureAdvocate for solutions that minimize the need for energized work and cabinet access6. Electrical Safety Strategy & LIFE Exposure ReductionDefine and advance the global strategy for electrical safety and LIFE exposure preventionEstablish expectations for energy isolation, verification of absence of voltage, and energized work controlsMonitor emerging risks and technologies to continuously strengthen controls7. Auditing, Inspection & Field VerificationEstablish and lead a global approach for auditing and inspecting electrical and commissioning workConduct and/or oversee field audits, site inspections, and targeted reviews of high-risk activitiesVerify that standards are not only defined but consistently executed in the fieldIdentify systemic gaps and drive timely corrective actions and accountability8. Regulatory & Statutory ComplianceEnsure global alignment with applicable regulatory, statutory, and legal requirements related to electrical safety and construction activitiesPartner with regional EHS teams to interpret and apply local requirements in a consistent, practical mannerMonitor regulatory developments and ensure standards and practices remain current and compliant9. Incident Learning & Continuous ImprovementLead analysis of electrical and commissioning-related incidents and near missesApply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to identify systemic improvementsTranslate insights into standards, design changes, and field practices10. Capability Building & CommunicationBuild organizational capability through clear guidance, coaching, and leadership engagementReinforce expectations aligned with “We Lead with Safety”Enable a culture where risk is understood, communicated, and actively managedQUALIFICATIONS10+ years of experience in electrical safety, commissioning, or high-risk industrial environmentsDemonstrated expertise in:High-energy electrical systems (e.g., data centers, UPS, industrial power systems)Arc flash and electrical hazard managementLockout/tagout and establishing safe work conditionsExperience working in construction or multi-contractor environmentsProven ability to influence across Engineering, Operations, and Services organizationsStrong understanding of global safety standards and regulatory frameworksExperience with auditing, inspection, and compliance verification programsAbility to translate technical risk into practical field controlsPreferredExperience with data center or mission-critical infrastructure environmentsDirect involvement in NPDI or engineering design processesExperience leading global or multi-regional programsFamiliarity with lean operating systems and continuous improvement frameworksEDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety, or related field or equivalent practical experienceProfessional certifications preferred (e.g., Certified Safety Professional or equivalent)TRAVEL TIME REQUIREDApproximately 30–50% global travel (annualized)Travel demand will be variable , with periods of higher intensity based on project activity, audits, incident response, and business needs#J-18808-Ljbffr
