  • Review shop drawings and resolve technical conflicts to reduce risk and rework.
  • Lead architectural execution for fleet programs including refreshes, minor remodels, and phased upgrades.
  • Ensure consistency between prototype intent and site-specific adaptations.
  • Support cost modeling, value engineering, and capital optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with Creative to translate design intent into executable architectural systems.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Sourcing, Construction, and Finance to align standards with budget, schedule, and supply chain realities.
  • Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage outside architectural firms to create and publish store specific drawing sets on time to receive building permits and achieve construction start dates
  • Ensure architectural solutions meet applicable building codes, safety standards, and Gap Inc. operating requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve constructability, reduce ambiguity, and enhance long-term durability.
  • Contribute to structured hindsight reviews to drive continuous improvement across programs.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of experience in architecture, retail design development, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of retail architectural systems, materials, specifications, and prototype development.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating GC and OFI integration and improving constructability.
  • Proficiency in CAD/BIM and architectural documentation tools.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field; professional degree preferred.

About the Company

T

The Gap Inc

Doris and Don Fisher opened the first Gap store in 1969 with a simple idea -- to make it easier to find a pair of jeans and a commitment to do more. Over the last 46 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with five brands -- Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Athleta and Intermix. Gap's clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through 3,300 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing. Many companies work to improve their services and businesses every day by using GAP Testers who anonymously go into various places and report back to the companies on everything from cleanliness, customer service to quality control. Being a tester is a very flexible, fun job with lots of benefits.
