PURPOSE AND ROLE  
Allegiance Refining, LLC, operator of The San Antonio Refinery is a PSM facility seeking a skilled Sr. Maintenance Mechanic to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment. As a maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation and maintenance  of our production equipment. This will include installing new equipment, performing regular preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance as well as troubleshooting equipment breakdowns to the highest quality.
 
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  
 
  • Support servicing and maintaining dynamic equipment of motors, pumps, bearings, couplings, and turbomachinery, but not limited to
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of mechanical seals and seal systems
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise; basic general vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance skills a plus; trend analysis and pattern recognition.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, PFDs, P&IDs, ISOs, etc...
  • Troubleshoot and maintain valves to include gasket and packing replacement.
  • Use and demonstrate knowledge of test instruments such as tachometers, pyrometers, strobe meters, laser alignment, other automated diagnostic tools
  • Use of precision measuring tools
  • Material handling and rigging including the knowledge and use of standardized crane hand signals
  • Mobile equipment uses such as forklifts, man lifts, compressors, and generators
  • Enter work request and provide feedback for work order close out
  • Thorough completion of inspection and repair documentation as required by, but not limited to PSM
  • General knowledge of various refinery equipment such as heat exchangers, vessels, drums, heaters, piping circuits, and etc.
  • Work scope development for equipment repairs and overhauls
  • May be required to work flexible work hours; on-call duty, plant outages
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 
  • High School Graduate or GED; Technical School or Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of work-related experience
  • At least 3+ years in a refining or petrochemical process plant with operations or PSM experience.
  • NCCER certification in Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright
  • This includes advanced proficiency in compressor maintenance, installation of motors, troubleshooting and repair of pumps, gearboxes in a refinery and terminal work environment. 
  • Experience using CMMS systems
  • Attention to detail; highly organized, self-motivated, self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Must be a team player and possess the ability to support a team effort
  • Legally authorized to work in US, in compliance with the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly working in elevated ambient temperatures
 
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting expertise; basic general vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance skills a plus; trend analysis and pattern recognition
  • Must be well organized, skilled in Microsoft Office, with the ability to write detailed reports and organize data.
