Sr IT Business Relationship Consultant

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented professional to support our Information Technology organization while contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment where each day brings new opportunities and challenges.

As a Senior IT Business Relationship Consultant, you will serve as a strategic extension of our IT leadership team, partnering closely with both business and technology leaders to identify, prioritize, and manage initiatives across the enterprise portfolio. This role provides a unique opportunity to operate at both strategic and operational levels, adapting to the needs of each initiative and assuming a variety of roles to ensure successful outcomes.

The successful candidate will excel at building strong relationships, aligning technology investments with business objectives, and driving value through effective portfolio and project management. They will be expected to navigate complex business and technology environments, providing guidance, coordination, and leadership across a diverse range of initiatives.

In addition, this role will lead the coordination and administration of the organization's Business Continuity Program, partnering with business stakeholders to conduct business impact assessments, develop and maintain business continuity plans, and strengthen organizational resilience. The position will also collaborate closely with disaster recovery teams to support planning, testing, governance, and continuous improvement efforts, ensuring the organization is well-prepared to respond to and recover from disruptions.

What You'll Do:

  • Help proactively manage the Information Technology portfolio across two growing areas within Farm Bureau, Enterprise Cyber Security and Technology Services Infrastructure.
  • Plan and execute projects and initiatives, work with Project Sponsors to prioritize work, and establish and maintain high-level estimates and roadmaps.
  • Act as a liaison between the other IT Business Relationship Consultants, stakeholders, and vendors on strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Partner with VPs and Directors in gathering and reporting project and portfolio information, managing change, and presenting to Sr. Management.
  • Provide prioritization and communication support for Cyber Security and Infrastructure Information Technology initiatives.
  • Facilitate some project management activities, which may include managing a project or strategic initiative.
  • Work with IT Directors and Managers to meet IT Compliance requirements.

What It Takes to Join Our Team:

  • College degree or equivalent plus three to seven years relevant experience required.
  • Must have or attain knowledge of Farm Bureau products, services, and strategies affecting the portfolio segment.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, oral and written communication, planning, decision making, and negotiation skills.
  • Must be results oriented and able to adapt and deal with ambiguous situations and manage expectations.
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with the Business and IT.
  • Experience in business analyst frameworks, processes and tools preferred.
  • Experience with aligning project portfolio resource needs and generating consensus among multiple interrelated priority projects.
  • Must have the aptitude to learn both business and technical terms and processes well enough to be a strong liaison between IT and the Business.
  • Ability to work in person from our office in West Des Moines, Iowa.
