Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has partnered with a leading academic research institution seeking a Senior Grants & Contracts Specialist.  As the Sr Grants & Contracts Specialist you will provide comprehensive support across proposal review, submission, and award management systems. In this role, you will act as the primary sponsor-facing contact for contractual matters while ensuring strict internal compliance from initial application through the Notice of Award. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree along with 3 years of grants and contracts  experience related to healthcare/medical programs with strong attention to details and highly organized.  If you’re seeking your next opportunity, apply now!

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an expert advisor to faculty and departments, conducting thorough proposal reviews for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to sponsor guidelines.
  • Establish submission timelines, coordinate with signing officials, and submit final, approved proposals to funding agencies and sponsors.
  • Review and negotiate legal terms, conditions, and contracts, including industry-sponsored clinical trial agreements and coordination of patient-care budgets.
  • Perform post-award analysis, oversee account setup, and manage Just-In-Time (JIT) requests, progress reports, and administrative changes (e.g., no-cost extensions, scope revisions).
  • Ensure accurate, up-to-date documentation and records management across departmental systems throughout the entire pre- and post-award lifecycle.

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Health Care, Public Administration or related field. Master’s degree in similar fields is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in grants or contracts related to biomedical research, and/or healthcare/medical programs and services.
  • Working Knowledge: NIH Grants Policy Statement (12/03), FAR and DFAR clauses, OMB Circulars A-110, A-122 and A-133 in addition to 45 CFR Part 74, Appendix E.
  • Proficient in MS Office

This job is Hybrid Remote.

Pay Range: Salary $75,000.00 to $90,000.00
