  • In addition to owning financial modeling and analytical execution, this position will serve as a thought partner in designing a scalable, transparent, and well-governed direct bill model for the organization. • This role requires strong financial modeling, allocation, analytical, and communication skills, along with the ability to work across Finance, Vendor Management, Technology, Controllership, Sourcing, and Segment teams
Responsibilities:
Direct Bill Strategy & Thought Leadership
  • Help develop and refine the overall strategy for enterprise direct bill financial operations.
  • Partner with leadership to design scalable processes for direct bill modeling, reporting, documentation, governance, and stakeholder support.
  • Recommend improvements to allocation methodologies, cost driver selection, data governance, dashboard design, and financial transparency.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize direct bill processes across enterprise vendor contracts, ELAs, AI tools, and shared technology services.
  • Serve as a financial thought partner on how direct bill should evolve as additional contracts, vendors, and tools move under the team’s responsibility.
Financial Modeling & Allocations
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial models used to allocate enterprise vendor costs across segments, services, products, or business units.
  • Create and support allocation methodologies based on contract terms, usage data, license counts, service ownership, business rules, or other agreed-upon cost drivers.
  • Validate allocation outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, completeness, and alignment with approved methodology.
  • Analyze vendor spend and billing data to determine direct bill treatment, allocation logic, and financial impact.
  • Support model versioning, change tracking, and ongoing maintenance as contracts, usage, and business requirements change.
Forecasting, Planning & Analysis
  • Support forecasting and planning activities for enterprise direct bill vendor spend.
  • Analyze actuals, forecast, budget, prior year, and allocation changes to explain key drivers and variances.
  • Help identify future financial impacts tied to contract renewals, usage growth, new tools, decommissions, vendor changes, or business demand.
  • Prepare financial insights and recommendations to support leadership decisions.
Dashboards, Reporting & Transparency
  • Maintain and enhance direct bill dashboards and reporting.
  • Provide visibility into vendor costs, segment charges, allocation drivers, trends, forecasts, and financial impacts.
  • Support self-service reporting and improve stakeholder access to direct bill data.
  • Identify data quality issues and partner with the appropriate teams to resolve discrepancies.
Documentation & Governance
  • Create and maintain documentation for direct bill models, allocation methodologies, assumptions, data sources, business rules, and process changes.
  • Support governance around allocation decisions, methodology updates, stakeholder reviews, and approvals.
  • Ensure direct bill processes are repeatable, auditable, and clearly documented.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and reference materials for direct bill activities.
Stakeholder Support
  • Serve as a key point of contact for Segment Finance and business stakeholders regarding direct bill charges, allocation methodology, dashboards, and cost changes.
  • Translate complex financial models and allocation logic into clear, business-friendly explanations.
  • Partner with Vendor Management, Finance, Controllership, Sourcing, Technology, and Segment teams to validate data and support accurate billing outcomes.
  • Help resolve questions, disputes, or escalations related to direct bill charges.
Process Improvement & Automation

  • Support automation opportunities using Excel, Power Query, Power BI, ComSci, Apptio, Tableau, workflow tools, or similar platforms.

  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large data sets.
  • Ability to document financial models, business rules, assumptions, and methodologies clearly.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to finance and non-finance audiences.
