Job Description
At CDM Smith, we’re not just designing infrastructure—we’re shaping the future of water, environment, and transportation systems around the world. As a top-tier design and program management firm, we thrive on solving complex challenges with creativity, collaboration, and purpose.

We’re looking for a Project Technical Leader who’s ready to make a real impact. In this role, you’ll be the technical force behind large-scale municipal water and wastewater projects—guiding design vision, ensuring technical excellence, and mentoring the next generation of engineers.

How you will contribute:
-Own the technical direction of water and wastewater pumping and treatment facility projects—from concept through final design.
-Lead facility evaluations and recommend smart, sustainable improvements.
-Design with precision, including hydraulic calculations, process piping, and equipment sizing.
-Collaborate with BIM teams to bring facility layouts to life.
-Develop technical specs and contract documents for public bids.
-Support modeling and water quality analysis when needed.
-Conduct site reviews to ensure designs align with real-world conditions.
-Mentor junior engineers, share your expertise, and help shape their careers.
-Engage with clients and contribute to proposals, white papers, and industry publications.
-Be a visible leader at conferences and client meetings, representing CDM Smith’s technical excellence.

This is more than a job—it’s a chance to lead meaningful projects, grow your career, and help communities thrive. If you’re ready to bring your technical expertise to a team that values innovation and impact, we’d love to meet you.

Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
-Professional engineering (PE) license.
-12 years of related experience.
-Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
-Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
