Job Description

This job is responsible for defining and leading the engineering approach for complex features to deliver significant business outcomes. Key responsibilities of the job include:

  • Delivering complex features and technology-enabling development efficiencies
  • Providing technical thought leadership based on conducting multiple software implementations and applying both depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies
  • Ensuring that the design and engineering approach for complex features are consistent with the larger portfolio solution
  • Defining the technology tool stack for the solution and evaluating and adapting new testing tool, framework, practices for teams
  • Enabling teams and applications with Continuous Integration, Continuous Development (CICD) capabilities and engaging with other technical stakeholders pertaining to efficient functioning of CI-CD pipeline
  • Guiding and influencing teams on design and best practices for high code performance - e.g., pairing code reviews
  • Providing end-to-end delivery of complex features including automation for either a single team or multiple teams at the program level
  • Conducting research, design, prototyping, and other exploration activities such as evaluating new toolsets and components for release management, CICD, and features
  • Working with stakeholders to establish high-level solution needs and with architects for technical requirements

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Developer Experience (DevEx) provides enterprise technical standards and common technical services platforms and tools that are leveraged by delivery teams across all BofA lines of business. We lead the solution design of those common services platforms and tools within our portfolio. With a strong sense of ownership for both personal deliverables and value stream goals, we perform role functions including:

  • Improve the experience for our developers making it easier to deliver industry-leading solutions while managing work efficiently and with the right controls.
  • Advance our technology platforms through innovation.
  • Reduce risk and improve quality across our technology portfolio by aligning to a single enterprise architecture strategy and delivering governance that enables consistency, integration, and automation.

Minimum Years of Experience

7 years in software engineering

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7 years in software engineering
  • 2 years hands-on expertise with Harness CD pipelines, templates, governance, integrations
  • Strong engineering experience with GitHub Actions and/or Cloudbees Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience with pipeline-as-code YAML, GitOps, artifact management, testing frameworks, and SDLC tooling
  • Strong understanding of CICD architectures, deployment strategies, enterprise controls, and automation patterns
  • Experience integrating CICD tools with cloud platforms AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across build, test, deploy, and runtime environments
  • Ability to work across complex organizations and lead technical efforts across multiple teams
  • Excellent communication skills with both engineering and leadership audiences

Desired Skills

  • Experience engineering multi-tenant and single-tenant platforms at enterprise scale
  • Knowledge of security scanning, SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets management, and compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with service mesh, container platforms, Helm, and IaC tools, Terraform
  • Experience building golden paths, accelerators, and developer onboarding frameworks
  • Background in regulated environments or financial services

  • Reduction in deployment lead time and change failure rate
  • Increased adoption of standardized Harness deployment patterns
  • Successful migration of legacy pipelines to GitHub Actions, Harness
  • Improvements in deployment SLOs, reliability, and rollback automation
  • Developer satisfaction, NPS, onboarding velocity, and CICD consistency across teams
