Job SummaryThe Sr Engineer II, Electronics is responsible for the design, development, verification, and support of electronic hardware used in Masimo's medical device products. This role provides strong technical contribution across the hardware development lifecycle, including circuit design, board-level implementation, verification, troubleshooting, and sustaining engineering. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this engineer independently executes complex technical assignments, supports product development activities, and contributes to product performance, reliability, and compliance objectives.Please note this is an onsite position at our Irvine, CA office.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop analog and digital electronic circuits for medical device applicationsSupport hardware development activities across the engineering lifecycle, including schematic design, implementation, verification, and sustaining engineeringPerform circuit board and flex cable design activities, including schematic entry and collaboration with PCB layout teamsDevelop, document, execute, and analyze board-level and system-level verification test plansPerform electrical design calculations, tolerance analysis, and technical performance evaluationsTroubleshoot electrical issues at component, board, and system levels and support root cause analysis investigationsSupport development of system and board-level requirements for assigned projectsEvaluate, select, and support qualification of electronic components and custom assemblies such as displays, touch panels, batteries, and related subsystemsCollaborate with software, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams to integrate hardware solutions into finished productsParticipate in design reviews and contribute technical input during major project milestonesSupport product and component failure investigations and recommend corrective design improvementsManage assigned technical tasks, deliverables, and timelines within project scope.Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to design quality, reliability, manufacturability, and engineering efficiencyProvide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to less experienced engineers when neededMinimum Qualifications6-8 years of progressive experience in electronics design, development, and troubleshootingStrong experience in analog and digital circuit designExperience with schematic capture tools such as PADS, OrCAD, Altium, or equivalentExperience supporting PCB layout, board bring-up, and debugging activitiesStrong troubleshooting skills using standard electronic lab instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimetersExperience supporting embedded systems and firmware interaction during board bring-up and testingWorking knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and USBFamiliarity with full product development lifecycle from concept through productionAbility to interpret system requirements and support hardware design solutionsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience designing within medical device or other regulated product development environmentsFamiliarity with IEC 60601-1 and related regulatory or compliance standardsExperience supporting EMC/EMI design, testing, and troubleshootingExposure to signal integrity and power integrity conceptsExperience with electrical simulation tools such as PSPICE, Multisim, or equivalentProgramming experience in C for embedded systems supportFamiliarity with Matlab or similar engineering analysis toolsExposure to embedded Linux environmentsEducationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline required; advanced degree preferredLanguage requirementsAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to interpret technical documents, schematics, and written instructionsAbility to clearly document technical findings and communicate with cross-functional team membersCompensation + BenefitsThe anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $155k plus benefits. Actual placement within this range is dependent on multiple factors, including but not limited to skills, education, and experience. This position also qualifies for up to 10% annual bonus based on company, department, and individual performance.
