• Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
• Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.
• Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
• Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
• Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
• • Additional Responsibilities:

    Planning, developing and documenting conceptual and detailed product design information by creating CAD models, drawings and schematics; Assist with Change Notice creation and implementation; Perform tolerance studies; Assist with root cause analysis efforts; Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, customers and locations as needed; Active participant in safety related topics; Active participant in continuous improvement initiatives

    Required Qualifications:
    • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
    • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree

    • Experienced with the following:

      • Proficient in the use of the latest Creo 10.0 and above, associated CAD file management (Intralink/Windchill) and other applicable hardware and software to perform in position

      • Awareness of latest industry standards as it relates to model based design

      • Able to manage priorities and complete tasks in accordance with project requirements and milestones

      • Able to discuss technical issues and communicate effectively with engineers, designers, management and other functions

    • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking. Analytical thinking. Problem solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical expertise. High understanding of basic engineering, design and drafting concepts; lead design experience a plus.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
    • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
    • May need to stand for long periods of time.
    • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
    • This position is Safety-Sensitive.
    Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel likely. Pay Range (USD): $77,140.00 - $143,260.00 Pay Transparency Statement: The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
