Sr Electrical Project Engineer

Worthington Enterprises is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead and execute moderately complex to complex electrical and controls engineering projects across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role is responsible for delivering capital and process improvement projects including equipment procurement and installation, facility electrical upgrades, automation implementation, and advanced electrical systems integration (PLC, HMI, servo systems, VFDs, robotics, and safety controls). The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will play a key role in Transformation and Continuous Improvement initiatives and collaborate cross-functionally with New Product Development (NPD), Commercial, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Quality, Regulatory, EH&S, Finance, and senior leadership teams.Key Responsibilities – Project Leadership & ExecutionVet identified needs and develop detailed project scope and objectivesDevelop and manage project budgets and schedulesPrepare capital funding approval documentationLead and support project teams through risk identification and mitigationDeliver projects on time, within budget, and with full functionalityCommunicate project status, metrics, and risks to stakeholders and senior leadershipElectrical & Controls EngineeringLead design, implementation, and troubleshooting of PLC/HMI systems, Servo drives and VFDs, Safety control systems, Three-phase power systems, Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, Ethernet and industrial networking systemsEnsure compliance with applicable codes and standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 79, ANSI B11, ISO 13849, etc.)Serve as a technical resource for facility-level electrical and controls troubleshootingSupport new automation and robotics applications (programming experience highly desired)Continuous Improvement & CollaborationSupport corporate transformation and CI initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellenceMentor corporate and facility technical staffAbility to travel 25-50%Required QualificationsEducationBachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering (4-year ABET accredited degree preferred)ExperienceMinimum of 10 years of related experienceManufacturing background with capital project experience requiredTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of machine design and operating principlesStrong knowledge of machine repair and troubleshooting practicesExperience with electrical system and controls design techniquesProficiency in reading, writing, building, and troubleshooting machine control systemsProficient with Rockwell / Allen-Bradley software, Siemens (and other) PLC platforms, HMI, servo drives, VFDs, and safety controllersProficient in 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)Robotics programming experience strongly preferredKey CompetenciesStrong interpersonal communication skillsExcellent problem-solving and organizational abilitiesSound technical decision-making skillsSelf-motivated with strong initiativeHands-on leader who can work independently and in team environments#J-18808-Ljbffr
