Description Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. As a Senior Electrical Engineer on the Launch Vehicle Integration - Electrical Engineering team, you will own the electrical readiness of one or more launch vehicle dispenser configurations supporting Amazon Leo. You will define and/or manage electrical requirements, provide technical oversight of partner-designed hardware, and lead electrical analysis and qualification closure for flight. You will also design electrical ground support equipment used across production and launch integration, while serving as a technical role model at Amazon Leo. Key job responsibilities We are seeking a strong Electrical Engineer who combines deep technical judgment with the ability to lead through influence in a highly integrated, partner-driven environment. In this role, you will: - Own the electrical definition and technical readiness of one or more launch vehicle dispenser configurations supporting Amazon Leo, from requirements development through qualification and flight readiness. - Review, and maintain electrical design for flight dispenser systems developed by third-party partners, ensuring alignment with Leo system needs and launch vehicle constraints. - Validate electrical designs for both dispense and ground support equipment to ensure they perform as expected and meet the needs of Amazon Leo. - Provide technical direction on partner-designed electrical hardware, firmware interfaces, and harnessing throughout the development lifecycle. - Perform electrical analyses across flight and ground systems, including power distribution, current return paths, signal integrity and data interfaces, HRM firing circuits, voltage drop, and worst-case scenarios. - Review and approve electrical qualification data packages, and consolidate and present evidence demonstrating configuration readiness for flight. - Design auxiliary electrical checkout hardware (including PCBAs), harnessing, and test configurations as needed to enable integration, verification, and launch operations. - Review and approve electrical integration procedures, ensuring safe, repeatable, and efficient execution across production and launch environments. - Debug and troubleshoot complex electrical issues during hardware integration, test, and launch campaign activities. - Support occasional travel (up to 20% in certain phases of a campaign) to partner sites, integration facilities, and launch sites. - Act as a technical role model by setting a high engineering bar and driving best practices in requirements development, design review, verification, and configuration control. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in complex integrated systems, enjoys being accountable for end-to-end electrical readiness, and takes pride in enabling safe and reliable launches through rigor, judgment, and collaboration. A day in the life As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be a member of the Launch Vehicle Integration - Electrical Engineering team, focusing on the design and development of electrical hardware for launch configurations and electrical ground support systems. You will be expected to perform a variety of tasks such as electrical analyses, designing PCBAs, developing EGSE racks, and troubleshooting hardware issues during integration and test. You will work hands-on with electrical designs from concept through production, ensuring robust and reliable hardware solutions. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and collaborate with multiple other spacecraft design and integration teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that haven't been solved at scale before. Along the way, we guarantee that you will learn a lot, have fun and make a positive impact on tens of millions of people! About the team Our team is responsible for delivering launch vehicle flight electrical interfaces and electrical ground support equipment supporting Amazon Leo's satellite constellation. We take ownership and work hard to deliver the highest quality solutions to support the long-term success of Amazon Leo. This team consists of a broad set of technical backgrounds, and we look forward to welcoming people that are excited to help us deliver broadband internet to underserved communities! Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent - 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering within aerospace, defense, or similarly complex hardware environments - Proficiency designing and interpreting electrical schematics - Experience with PCBA CAD design tools. - Experience performing electrical analyses (power, signal integrity, worst-case circuit analysis) - Experience in electrical power delivery and supporting harnessing - Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, etc.) - Experience owning or supporting electrical interfaces between independently-developed systems - Demonstrated experience reviewing third-party designs for requirements compliance, test adequacy, and qualification completeness - Strong understanding of requirements flow-down, verification planning, and configuration control - Excellent communication skills, with experience interfacing across engineering, manufacturing, integration, and program/mission teams Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent - Experience supporting satellite integration and/or launch vehicle interfaces - Experience designing or owning mission-critical electrical systems - Familiarity with satellite power systems, charging operations, and health monitoring - Experience designing spacecraft EGSE or test systems used for hardware integration and verification - Background in working with external suppliers or partners for hardware development - Experience supporting production or high-cadence integration environments Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
