Summary:


Responsible for new product designs and development. Taking concepts and/or sketches, building them into concept models, and/or working prototypes, improving initial design up to and including where appropriate into a finish production product.

Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical or electromechanical products
  • Understanding of PCB design, layout, schematic capture (Altium preferred)
  • Embedded software experience using C++ and Python is a plus
  • Knowledge of material qualities and manufacturing procedures
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T standards
  • Ability to work in a lab environment for to set-up and operate experimental testing
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares product models, detailed drawings and schematics for Engineering teams.
  • Regularly attend new product development meetings to clarify or resolve issues during the design and development process and ensure design specifications meet engineering requirements.
  • Determines design production feasibility utilizing existing manufacturing processes and methodologies by analyzing product specifications and performance requirements.
  • Provides the Engineering and Management teams with technical information related to manufacturing processing techniques, which determines the feasibility of new product development.
  • Develops test procedures utilizing previous data, if available, to validate product or subassembly designs and determines if product design meets functional performance specifications.
  • Collaborates with vendors to evaluate new materials and processes.
  • Works with outside vendors and fabricators to obtain quotes and produce product prototypes.
