Job OverviewAmazon Web Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for designing and continuously innovating data center footprints. The role involves electrical distribution system design, achieving high uptime, and driving continuous improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign data center electrical systems and collaborate with other disciplines to produce construction document sets.Create designs that meet quality requirements and stay within budget.Work with local agencies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal building codes.Review and approve equipment submittals.Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during construction phases.Work with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems.Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographic regions.Travel to sites for reviews and collaborate with onsite field engineers, providing engineering evaluations and audits as needed.Propose creative solutions and support continuous improvement.Basic Qualifications6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience.6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data centers.Preferred QualificationsProfessional Engineering or Architectural License.Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region of assignment.Experience carrying design concepts through development to deployment or mass production.Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.Amazon is an equal‑opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
