About the Opportunity
An established engineering and infrastructure organization is seeking a Senior Director of Electrical Engineering to lead discipline strategy, technical excellence, and team performance. This leadership role supports complex utility, energy, and industrial projects while driving engineering standards, operational efficiency, and business growth.
Job Duties
• Lead electrical engineering operations, directors, and managers across multiple regions.
• Develop and execute discipline strategy, standards, and technical best practices.
• Serve as SME and Engineer of Record; ensure PE compliance and engineering quality.
• Oversee power systems design, protection & relaying, system studies, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and utility/energy industry codes and standards.
• Support project execution, technical reviews, and quality control.
• Collaborate with executive and regional leadership to align engineering resources.
• Drive continuous improvement, process optimization, and technical innovation.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, staffing plans, and technical scopes.
• Maintain and grow client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
• Mentor, develop, and build high-performing engineering teams.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market opportunities.
• Travel occasionally to offices, project sites, and client meetings.

Qualifications
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 15+ years electrical engineering experience in utilities, energy, or industrial infrastructure.
• 5+ years leadership experience managing multi-level engineering teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Expertise in power distribution, substations, protection & relaying, and electrical system modeling.
• Strong knowledge of utility, oil & gas, and industrial electrical standards and compliance.
• Experience with EPC projects, construction support, and field operations preferred.
• Proven leadership, strategic planning, and operational improvement experience.
• 15+ years electrical engineering experience in utilities, energy, or industrial infrastructure.
• 5+ years leadership experience managing multi-level engineering teams.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
