Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Head of Business Strategy, Planning & Operation will own and integrate the end-to-end operating system for CCI’s Distributed Energy business—spanning strategy & business model design, annual/rolling planning, portfolio governance (PMO), investment/due diligence readiness, and cross-functional operating cadence. This leader will directly manage/lead key functional owners across Business Strategy and Planning/Operations, and will serve as the “single-threaded” driver ensuring that CCI’s growth priorities translate into executable plans, disciplined delivery, and executive-ready decision materials.

This role is expected to lead cross-functionally with Development/Origination, Project Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Legal/Contracts, Finance/Accounting, Insurance/Risk, and HQ stakeholders (Korea), consistent with the scope historically required to manage DE strategic initiatives and investment readiness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Business Strategy & Business Model Leadership
  • Set and refine CCI DE business strategy (growth priorities, market entry/expansion, partnership/JV approach, product/offering structure)
  • Lead business model development with commercial + technical feasibility discipline (contracting structure, delivery model, risk allocation, operating model)
2) Business Planning, KPI/OKR, and Executive Operating Cadence
  • Own annual and rolling plan (pipeline, revenue/margin, cash timing assumptions) and drive KPI/OKR performance management
  • Establish the executive cadence: leadership dashboards, decision memos, weekly/monthly operating reviews, and HQ reporting package
  • Ensure alignment on assumptions and “single source of truth” across teams and reporting
3) Portfolio Governance (PMO) & Cross-Functional Execution
  • Implement/operate stage-gate governance across the portfolio (Go/No-Go, investment readiness, change control, risk/issue escalation)
  • Drive integrated schedule, critical path management, and cross-team action tracking to improve predictability and throughput
4) Investment Readiness / Due Diligence & Transaction Enablement
  • Oversee investment readiness from screening through closing: data room standards, diligence Q&A process, model input governance, and IC materials
  • Partner with Project Finance, Development/Origination, and Engineering to optimize valuation and transaction structuring, including sensitivity analysis and risk quantification
  • Coordinate with internal teams, third-party advisors, and counterparties to qualify investments prior to executing acquisition documents
5) Business Operations Enablement (Controls / Tools / Infrastructure)
  • Ensure supporting operating infrastructure is in place (templates/SOPs, approval workflows, entity execution governance, reporting tools)
  • Interface with Finance/Accounting on planning vs. actuals, project cost visibility, and management reporting
  • Partner with Insurance/Risk and Legal/Contracts to ensure contract readiness and compliance with coverage requirements
  • Sponsor/guide key systems/process improvements (e.g., ERP/process design, reporting automation) to reduce manual overhead and improve control
6) People Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and manage a small team covering:
    • CCI Energy Business Planning / Strategy (Director)
    • CCI Energy Business Strategy (Manager/Sr Manager)
    • CCI DE Planning / Management / Operations (Manager)
    • (plus, dotted-line coordination across PMO, diligence, finance ops, entity execution, insurance/risk, as applicable)
  • Serve as the senior integrator across internal stakeholders and HQ (Korea), delivering clear narratives and decision-ready packages
Core Deliverables
  • Strategy roadmap + business model playbooks (incl. partnership/commercialization frameworks)
  • Annual + rolling plan; KPI/OKR dashboard; executive operating review decks
  • Portfolio governance artifacts (stage-gate, integrated schedule, risk register, change control)
  • Investment committee / leadership packages; diligence tracker; data room standards
  • HQ reporting package (periodic performance and strategic updates)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years experience across a combination of: business strategy, corporate planning, PMO/operations, project finance/investment, development leadership in energy/infrastructure/project businesses, or business consulting in strategy and operation excellency
  • Strong command of valuation, DCF-based financial thinking, and sensitivity/risk analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to produce executive-ready written/verbal deliverables for senior leadership and investment committees
  • Strong operating rigor and stakeholder management
  • Bilingual Korean/English (speaking/writing) required, with ability to engage HQ stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel (~30%), depending on portfolio needs and key meetings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Distributed energy / renewables / ESS experience; familiarity with C&I or DG-scale project ecosystems
  • Hands-on experience building operating systems: KPI cadence, governance, templates/SOPs, reporting automation
  • Track record in multi-stakeholder transactions (JV structures, acquisitions, portfolio sales, lender/investor diligence)
Leadership Attributes (What “Good” Looks Like)
  • Balances strategic clarity with operational discipline—turns ambiguity into decisions and execution plans
  • Builds scalable systems (not heroics), strengthens controls, and reduces organizational overhead
  • Drives alignment across Development, PF, Engineering, PM, Legal, and Finance while protecting decision quality
