OverviewThe Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O) employs a workforce of approximately 2,700 staff, represented by 15 collective negotiations agreements, and is responsible for institutional strategic initiatives and operations, which encompasses an expansive range of comprehensive service and business operations across the State of New Jersey. These include planning and construction, facilities, public safety and emergency operations, environmental health and safety, transportation, housing, and auxiliary/retail operations.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate, develop, design, and budget mechanical systems for renovation, alteration, and new construction projects.Act as the University's representative for design‑related mechanical issues on larger construction projects being designed by independent engineering consultants.Have statewide responsibilities, addressing a wide variety of academic, administrative, research, healthcare, and infrastructure projects.Interface with a dynamic team of university technical staff including project management, maintenance, safety, controls, commissioning and utilities groups to ensure that mechanical designs are implemented properly from conception through final acceptance.Responsible for the content and interpretation of the mechanical design content included in the University Design Standards.Provide mechanical engineering guidance to the Project Manager.Responsible for reviewing, signing and sealing in‑house mechanical designs.Perform the professional engineering review of documents created by external consultants to ensure projects comply with University Design Standards and applicable codes.Salary DetailsMinimum Salary: $108,670.00Mid Range Salary: $137,547.00Maximum Salary: $166,424.00The final salary offer may be determined by several factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's qualifications, experience, and expertise, and availability of department or grant funds to support the position. We also take into consideration market benchmarks, if and when appropriate, and internal equity to ensure fair compensation relative to the university's broader compensation structure.
