Purpose:
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst is responsible for eliciting, analyzing, and documenting business and technical needs of strategic projects for the Policy admin system (ALIP). Projects will involve several business areas with scope of medium to large complexity, ambiguity, urgency, risk, and technical and regulatory sophistication. Serves as the lead for all or majority of the analysis efforts of assigned programs/projects; coordinating the work of other business system analysts as needed. Acts as a liaison, facilitating and communicating among several business and IT stakeholders. You will report directly to the Manager of Software Development.
Accountabilities:
- Lead business analysis activities for complex, cross-functional initiatives supporting the ALIP administration platform and integrated enterprise systems.
- Partner with Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technology teams to define business needs, translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria, and deliver scalable technology solutions.
- Facilitate requirements workshops, identify process improvement opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions that enhance business performance and customer outcomes.
- Lead analysis efforts across multiple initiatives by coordinating other Business Systems Analysts, driving best practices, and ensuring high-quality business and functional requirements.
- Build trusted relationships across the organization, proactively manage dependencies and risks, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences while embracing change and continuous improvement.
This position may be filled at multiple levels based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in business systems analysis, including experience delivering complex technology initiatives within Agile environments or relevant experience.
- Experience partnering with business and technology stakeholders to elicit requirements, develop user stories, facilitate process improvements, and deliver enterprise technology solutions; experience supporting policy administration platforms such as ALIP is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, including business process modeling, requirements elicitation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution design, with demonstrated critical thinking, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams, leading analysis efforts on complex initiatives, mentoring peers, and effectively communicating with stakeholders at varying organizational levels.
- Knowledge of the annuity or financial services industry is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Military experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
