Akkodis is seeking a Sr Advanced Software Engineer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate must have strong FMS development experience and expertise in C++ while architecting core software, integrating systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, safety-critical solutions.
Rate Range: $55/Hour to $57/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Sr Advanced Software Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Design and develop core Flight Management System (FMS) software using C++ and object-oriented principles.
Architect and implement scalable, high-performance software solutions for flight planning, navigation, and guidance systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, integrate systems, and support new product development.
Conduct code reviews, testing, and validation to ensure compliance with safety-critical standards (e.g., DO-178C).
Support system integration and testing in lab environments, ensuring reliability and performance of FMS applications.
Stay current with industry trends and continuously improve software design, architecture, and development practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (master's preferred).
8-15 years of experience in software development, including hands-on Flight Management Systems (FMS) development.
Strong expertise in C++ and object-oriented programming with proven experience in FMS software architecture and design.
Hands-on experience with FMS functional areas (flight planning, navigation, guidance, performance) and familiarity with Agile development and safety-critical standards (e.g., DO-178C).

Pay Details: $55.00 to $57.00 per hour
