SQL Data Migration Specialist / SQL Data Analyst/Engineer

This role will support a large-scale ERP data migration validation team ensuring data integrity as records move from legacy systems into SAP.  

This role can be performed remotely in the Eastern or Central time zone, but does have specific onsite travel requirements later in the program, Candidates unable to travel will NOT be considered.  Travel and Lodging expenses will be reimbursed. 

During the deployment phase, this position will work  onsite in New Jersey just ahead of the 4th of July holiday and will be working through that entire weekend, with overtime hours likely for troubleshooting and last minute problem resolution.

Position Responsibilities

• Supporting a large-scale ERP data migration validation team to ensure data integrity as records move from legacy systems into SAP.
• Writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing SQL queries and stored procedures that reconcile source and target record counts, surface discrepancies, and confirm completeness across migration batches.
• Performing primary key matching across source, target, and error/reject tables to identify gaps and mismatches.
• Building and maintaining stored procedures following a layered staging architecture.
• Optimizing query performance on large datasets through data type tuning, indexing strategies, and managing complex transformations.
• Materializing validation results into physical tables for Power BI consumption.
• Performing sampling-based validation when full-query comparison isn't feasible.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience 
• Prior experience supporting ERP data migration projects
• Strong experience with T-SQL / SQL Server, including stored procedures, CTEs, staging architecture, and dynamic SQL
• Rock solid SQL Development experience, must be able to write Complex SQL Queries without the use of AI
• Proven ability to work with large datasets
• Database and SQL  performance tuning experience
• Expertise in data validation, reconciliation, and ensuring data integrity across systems
• ERP data migration experience (SAP, JDE, Oracle), experience with SAP Tables is ideal, or other ERP system Tables
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Power BI and Data Visualization experience is ideal
• Medallion Architecture experience is a strong nice to have
